The Disintegration of the Middle East: Implications for the US and the West

Tuesday, October 27, 2015
6:30PM – 8:00PM

This lecture describes and explains how Middle Eastern borders were drawn after the first World War, how they were preserved for almost a century, and why in recent years once-solid geopolitical lines have become blurred, obsolete. Many states in the region have consequently become “failed states.” The lecture explains these transformations and their meaning and implications for the future of the Middle East and its relations with the US and the West.
