Geo-political Transformations in the Middle East: Causes, Developments and Consequences

This presentation examines how the last 100 years play a role in the ongoing crises in the Middle East, and how post WWI borders are now being redrawn. With some Middle Eastern states descending into chaos and others forming previously unthinkable alliances, many states in the region have consequently become “failed states”. Our speaker will explain these transformations, their meanings, and implications for the future of the Middle East and its relations with the US and the West.
